Gandhinagar: With 1.41 crore people availing the benefits of the “Pradhanmantri Jan Aarogya-Mukhyamantri Amrutum (PMJAY-MA)” Ayushman Card, Gujarat ranks fourth-highest in the country to achieve this feat. The state government claims that this scheme has benefited patients seeking treatment for minor to major issues. The medical claims provided by this scheme could be availed from many government and private hospitals in the state.
The “PMJAY-MA” scheme has benefited nearly 1.41 crore people from Gujarat, who have availed Rs. 5 lakh worth of medical insurance for their families under the Ayushman Card. Around 1.43 crore people have been issued personal Ayushman cards under the “Aap Ke Dwaar-Ayushman” scheme by the 11th of July, 2022. Gujarat has ranked fourth in the country by achieving this feat. Meanwhile, with Rs. 5363 crores worth of insurance claims availed from the year 2018, the state has ranked 2nd in the country for achieving that. In the Vande Gujarat Yatra organised by the state government recently, nearly 67,257 people have been issued the Ayushman Card in the span of 6 days.
According to Health Minister Rushikesh Patel’s claim, 1875 government and 737 private hospitals in the state offer around 2612 medical treatments under the PMJAY-MA Scheme. Families with an Ayushman Card can receive treatment for minor ailments as well as organ transplants. This scheme provides nearly 2681 such medical assistance. The state government has launched a “Green Corridor” initiative to persuade more people to carry out their medical treatments in government hospitals. In order to monitor that the Ayushman Card is efficiently availed by the beneficiaries, a “Pradhanmantri Ayushman Mitra” is also appointed in all the allotted hospitals. DeshGujarat
