July 16, 2022
Ambaji: A saffron outfit by the name of Hindu Heet Raksha Samiti held a big rally amidst sloganeering in Gujarat’s pilgrimage site, Ambaji, on Friday seeking enforcement of the Disturbed Area Act in the town and submitted a memorandum to the circle officer to this effect. The bazaars of Ambaji also observed a bandh on occasion to express their resentment against the increasing life-threatening assaults on members of the Hindu community.
The Hindu outfit gave the call for a bandh in Ambaji in the light of a fatal assault on a Hindu tailor, Kanhaiyalal, in Rajasthan’s Udaipur and other such small and big incidents that are being reported from all over India.
With a demand to enforce the Disturbed Area Act in the pilgrim destination, the rally started at the local Khodvadli circle and passed along different areas of the town. Both men and women participated in the rally in large numbers and expressed their anguish through slogan-shouting.
The leaders of the Hindu outfit then submitted a memorandum to the circle officer and demanded that Disturbed Area Act be enforced with immediate effect in Ambaji.
Men and women participating in the rally also recited the Hanuman Chalisa. Many police personnel were deployed in Ambaji keeping in mind the call for a bandh.
The bandh and the rally at Ambaji both went off peacefully.
