Lone NCP MLA in Gujarat, Kandhal Jadeja cast vote for BJP led NDA candidate
July 18, 2022
Gandhinagar: The only member of legislative assembly (MLA) in Gujarat from Sharad Pawar led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Kandhal Jadeja today said he cast his vote in the Presidential election in favor of BJP led NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu. Kandhal said this in reply to media’s questions after he cast his vote at the State assembly.
Kandhal said, “I have not done any cross voting, I have cast vote as per my ideology and as per my heart’s call. I had not received any whip from the party and haven’t received anyone’s call (instructing me that I should vote for which candidate).’
Kandhal further said, ‘I have to stay in Gujarat and I have to deal with the Gujarat government for various works of the people, and my all works that I bring to notice of the State government are done. And I have to vote, by considering that my area’s development works are done. The works I want to be done are done by the State government and therefore I have voted for BJP candidate. I have done that because my area’s development works are done by the State government. I don’t vote for my selfish motives.’
