July 25, 2022
Porbandar: Security agencies have seized two Iranian boats and 15 crew members from near the international marine border and brought them to Porbandar. Though nothing objectionable was found in these boats, the police had lodged an offence of unlawfully entering into Indian waters.
As the fishing season has come to an end, security agencies were tipped-off about two fishing boats suspiciously near I.M.B.L and the ship of the Coast Guard immediately reached the spot. Both the boats were detained and interrogation revealed both the vessels to be of Iranian origin.
To search whether the boats were carrying drugs or any other objectionable material, they were detained and taken to Porbandar. Various security agencies conducted interrogations of the crew members and searched the boats thoroughly. Nothing objectionable was discovered during the searches.
The first boat called Akhtar Ali had 6 crew members and the other boat Attah had nine crew members.
