L&T to set up Rs. 7,000 crore IT park near Vadodara; signs MoU with Gujarat govt

Vadodara: Engineering major Larsen & Turbo has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to set up an IT & ITES enabled services technology park near Vadodara.
As per the details shared by the State, L&T will invest Rs. 7,000 crore in this IT park in the span of next 5 years. In just one year of its operation, employment opportunities will come up for 2,000 engineers in addition to others. The proposed generation of employment in the park directly and indirectly shall be 10,000 in the next five years as per plans shared by L&T.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. On behalf of the State government, it was signed by the department of Science & Technology. It’s worth noting that the State government had announced Gujarat IT and ITES policy (2022-27) aiming to create 1 lakh new IT jobs opportunities in the State. Within the first six months of new policy, the State government has signed MoUs with 13 leading local and global IT companies that propose Rs. 2400 crore investment and creation of 13,750 high-skill IT jobs.
