Gujarat govt presents cheques to Commonwealth games winners

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat today felicitated the sports persons who achieved success in the recently held Commonwealth Games at Birmingham. The Chief Minister rewarded the players by offering them cheques of sums provisioned in the Sports policy of the State.
Table Tennis Player Harmeet Desai who won gold in Commonwealth games was rewarded with Rs. 35 lakh cheque. Wheelchair Table Tennis Gold winner Bhaving Patel was rewarded with Rs. 25 lakh cheque. Bronze winner Wheelchair Table Tennis player Sonal Patel was rewarded with Rs. 10 lakh cheque which was received by Sonal’s sister. Women’s cricketer Yashika Bhatia and Radha Yadav were presented cheques of Rs. 5 lakh each for being part of the Indian Cricket team in Commonwealth games. DeshGujarat
