Wankaner Bandh observed over allotment of ground for Ganesh Utsav

Wanakner: Wankaner town is observing a day long strike today protesting against the local civic body’s decision to allot a ground for Ganesh Utsav through auction. Local rebel BJP leader and former MLA Jitubhai Somani had sought permission to use the ground for Market Chawk Ka Raja Ganesh Utsav. He had applied for allotment of the ground for Ganesh Utsav which is being organized here for last 12 years. However the local civic body refused to give favor and insisted on an auction. It’s worth noting that the local civic body is run by an administrator at present after it was superseded by the State government. Former MLA Jitu Somani and his wife Jyotsna Somani, also a former MLA are sitting on fast for the past few days protesting over ground allocation issues. DeshGujarat
