Chamunda Mataji Trust moves to HC against ropeway at Chotila
September 06, 2022
Surendranagar: Shri Chamunda Mataji Dungar Trust has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in Gujarat High Court against the construction of a ropeway at Chotila hill by the state government.
Gujarat High Court has sent notices to the state government and related parties for a hearing. The High Court has ordered stay on the further proceedings regarding the ropeway contract. The hearing is scheduled after two weeks.
Shri Chamunda Mataji Dungar Trust stated in the PIL that a writ petition was filed previously by the trust. The High Court had ordered the trust to submit their problems and suggestions to the state government. However, the state government ignored the suggestions and issues raised by the trust, the PIL states.
The state government had undertaken proceedings of approving the allotment of contract for building the ropeway to Mesors Mars Entertain Ltd.
The PIL alleged that the decision of the authorities of the state government is illegal, improper, and against justice. The state government has not undertaken any legal proceedings such as public notice, tendering, and public auction, the PIL stated.
