Election Commission team to visit Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Central Election Commission team will visit poll-bound Gujarat during 17-18 September for important meetings in which all district collectors and district police chief along with police commissioners of cities will remain present.
The meeting during the two-day visit of the Election Commission is going to be held in a private hotel in Ahmedabad. A 9-member delegation of the Election Commission will hold a series of meetings during the weekend and access the situation on the ground as well as the preparedness.
The delegation will include three Deputy Election Commissioners. The Election Commission is likely to announce the schedule of general elections of the State assembly in Gujarat at the end of the month of October. The elections are likely to take place in the month of December. December
