Customs department seizes a ship at Salaya, Gujarat

Jamnagar: The Customs department in Salaya seized a ship worth Rs 1.30 crore, which arrived from Dubai, for allegedly externally selling 80 barrels of diesel. The customs department has undertaken the process of collecting the customs duty of Rs 13 lakh.
The ship named Sagar Darshan with 500-ton capacity had arrived in Salaya from Dubai in May. There was a stock of 110 barrels diesel in the ship at its arrival. The superintendent inspector of local customs, under the guidance of deputy commissioner of Jamnagar customs had secretly received the information that the diesel is being sold externally from the ship. They undertook an investigation to verify the information, in which they found 80 barrels less from 110 barrels.
They have undertaken the process of collecting customs duty of Rs 13 lakh on the 80 barrels of diesel. DeshGujarat
