New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) is going to announce the schedule of the next round of assembly polls later today. Polls are due in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. However Jammu & Kashmir is still in the process of revising its electoral rolls.

In 2017, ECI had announced the schedule of Himachal Pradesh assembly elections on 13th October in a press conference while Gujarat polls were declared on October 25 in a separate press conference. In 2012 however Gujarat and Himachal elections were declared in the same press conference on October 4. It has to be seen whether the poll schedule of both states is declared in today’s press conference, or only Himachal Pradesh dates are announced. The possibilities are high that only Himachal Pradesh elections shall be announced today. DeshGujarat
