Waghodia MLA Madhu Srivastav quits BJP

Vadodara: Sitting BJP MLA from Waghodia in Vaodadara district, Madhu Srivastav has announced his resignation from the party as he is denied a ticket in the upcoming State assembly election. Srivastav read aloud his resignation addressed to the State party chief CR Patil before the media persons. Srivastav announced his candidature from Waghodia seat. Srivastav had contested the Wadhodia seat as an independent in the year 1995 assembly election and won. Since 1998 he has been contesting as a BJP candidate. He has won the Waghodia seat as BJP candidate in 1998, 2022, 2007, 2012, and 2017. Srivastav today said a committee of his supporters will decide whether to contest the election as an independent or through some political party or whether to rejoin BJP in the future or not. Madhu’s supporters said Madhu Srivastav may contest with the support of Shiv Sena or as Shiv Sena candidate. However, there are more chances that he contest as an independent candidate. DeshGujarat
