Godhra man held for posting pro-Pakistan content

Panchmahal: A Special operations group (SOG) of Panchmahal police arrested one Wasim Bhatuk of Godhra for posting pro-Pakistan material as his WhatsApp status.

Bhatuk is charged with section 153 (A) of the Indian Penal Code for promoting enmity between different groups on religion, race, place of birth, residence, language or similar grounds. and also with section 67 (A) of the Information Technology Act for forwarding objectionable material.

Police informed that Bhatuk was arrested on Wednesday after the complaint was registered and would be produced before court today.

Sources said that the accused shared a video favouring Pakistan and wrote Pakistan zindabad on status however he has claimed in primary interrogation that he did so by mistake.

Police also informed that it had obtained the screenshots of the shared status and registered the offence. The same content was found from the other social media account of the accused.
