Gandhinagar: The State assembly secretariat has asked the main opposition party Congress to send the name of the leader of the legislative party group within 30 days of the first session as per the rule. The first session of the State Assembly after the election was held on 20th December. The Congress party has 17 MLAs in the 182-seat State assembly. A meeting of the Congress party was held last month to decide the legislative group leader. The meeting resolved that the decision on who would become the leader of the legislative party group will be taken by the party’s national chief Kharge. There has been no word from the party’s central leadership yet. DeshGujarat
