Tata acquires the manufacturing plant of Ford in Sanand

Gandhinagar: Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited (TPEML), a subsidiary of Tata Motors Limited, completed the acquisition of Ford India’s manufacturing plant in Sanand on Tuesday.
In August last year, the company announced that it would acquire Ford India Pvt. Ltd.’s Sanand plant in Gujarat for Rs 725.7 crore.
Tata Motors, in a regulatory filing, said that with the fulfilment of all the necessary conditions, the parties have completed the transaction, and TPEML has acquired the Sanand Property and Vehicle manufacturing plant and machinery.
In addition to this, all the former Ford employees were given offer letters, and those who accepted have now become employees of TPEML with effect from 10th January, the company said.
According to reports, Only 37% of Ford employees accepted offer letters to join the Tata workforce. About 1000 former ford workers were given an offer letter and 370 of them have accepted same.
