January 12, 2023
Mahisagar: The forest department has dismissed the claims of tiger sightings in Janod Village of Mahisagar District.
Since last Friday, residents of Janod village are claiming to have spotted a tiger, later villagers said that they saw the pug marks of the tiger. But the forest department still maintains that it might have been a leopard.
The Range forest officer of Balasinor, Juhi Chaudhary said, “We have found old pug marks which are 10 cm in length. These pug marks look like that of a leopard. The teams are still searching and yet we have not found any prey or excreta that proves the presence of a Tiger.”
It seems the animal would have moved out but the dept. has also not received any reports of sightings in any other parts district, the official added.
