Big allocation for bullet train project; Boost to lab-grown diamond industry in union budget: Sushil Modi

Gandhinagar: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Modi, today addressed the media in Gandhinagar on the recently tabled Union Budget 2023-24. The BJP leader highlighted two major announcements regarding Gujarat, one was about Lab Grown Diamonds, and another one was about Ahmedabad Mumbai Bullet Train.
Sushil Modi while addressing the media, said, “Rs. 19,600 crores have been allocated to bullet train project connecting Sabarmati to Bandra Kurla Complex in the recently presented union budget. The bullet trains will start operating by August 2026”

“5% custom duty on import of seeds used to develop Lab Grown Diamonds is removed. There is also a provision of Rs. 242 crore for IIT Madras to conduct research on this. Custom duty on imitation jewellery is also hiked to benefit domestic makers,” he added.
