14 cages set up to capture leopard in Bodeli
February 07, 2023
Chota Udepur: After a leopard killed two children within eight days, some villages of Bodeli have gone into self-lockdown, and villagers are not even sending their kids to schools. The forest department has planted 14 cages to catch the big cat.
The villagers have written to district authorities that they are scared to send their children to schools, and after dark, even the adults don’t venture out of their homes. We hope the forest officials catch it at the earliest, a resident told a newspaper.
The leopard first snatched two years old Sahil Baria from his elder brother’s arm leaving him dead, and then attacked Krish Baria, a five-year-old child three days ago in Dhorivav village located a few kilometres.
Dr Anshuman Sharma, the conservator of forests, Vadodara circle, said that as per the investigation, it is a male leopard, and they have set up 14 cages in the village to catch it. DeshGujarat
