Gujarat govt inks MoU with Mettube Copper India for manufacturing facility in Sanand

Gandhinagar: Gujarat will see the manufacturing of fifth-generation copper tubes that are used in air conditioning and refrigeration application. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of Gujarat and Mettube Copper India Pvt Ltd today in the State capital Gandhinagar for the same.
According to a note released by the State government, the plant shall come up in Sanand – II industrial area. The company has set a target to make the plant operational in January 2024. A fifth-generation copper tube making will help reduce carbon footprint. The project’s first phase and related ecosystem will generate direct and indirect employment opportunities for estimated 1500 persons. According to Apurv Bagri, Chairman of Met Tube Copper India, the company is already operating a major plant in Malaysia. For its next operations, the company has selected Gujarat.
