Veraval: Locally renowned MD Physician doctor Atul Chag committed suicide in his MDA hospital by hanging on the ceiling fan in the morning on February 12 using his muffler. His one-line suicide note stated: I commit suicide due to Naranbhai and Rajeshbhai Chudasama. The incident has triggered political discussion as the name of the local Lok Sabha member is Rajesh Naranbhai Chudasama. Police are probing into the case.

In a press conference held today by DySP said, whether the suicide note was written by the doctor himself or not, that would be checked by forensic experts. The Police officer further stated that the suicide note has no mention of the reason for suicide. The officer said that the family persons stated that there were some financial transactions between the Doctor and Chudasama. The officer stated that the primary investigation is on to confirm who are Rajesh Chudasama and Naranbhai mentioned in a suicide note. The officer said that the Post Morterm note has confirmed that the Doctor committed suicide. Meanwhile, a relative of the late Doctor while speaking to media persons stated that the late Doctor had treated Naranbhai Chudasama, father of Lok Sabha member Rajesh Chudasama during the covid pandemic. Police are probing the case and receiving more details from late Doctor Atul Chag’s son Hitarth. Police has also recovered Dr. Atul’s cell phone to get more details.

Meanwhile, a doctor from Junagadh, Jalpan Rupapara has in his social media post stated that about eight to ten months ago when he met Dr. Atul in the latter’s office, Dr. Atul had told him that Chorwad’s Naranbhai Chudasama has to pay him a huge amount. According to Rupapara, Dr. Atulbhai also showed checks of large amounts and told that the money earned by him through hard work is not returned even after repeated requests. According to Rupapara, he doesn’t recall the exact amount mentioned in a conversation with Dr. Atul, but it was around Rs. two to two and a half crores. Dr. Rupapara says, when asked whether Rajeshbhai Chudasama was aware of this, Dr. Atul replied that he had repeatedly asked Rajeshbhai and Naranbhai to return his money… What to do?

In another development, Rajyasbha MP Parimal Nathwani took to Twitter to mourn the demise of Dr. Chug and demanded an investigation from the government of Gujarat into the matter. Parimalbhai is a leading member of the Raghuvanshi (Lohana) community. Late Dr. Atul Chag also was from the same community. Dr. Chag’s family members had today appealed entire doctors community and Raghuvanshi community to come forward and demand justice into the death of Dr. Chag.
