Tax issue of Aviation training company AAA with Mahesana municipality resolved

Mahesana: The 15-year-old due-tax issue faced by Ahmedabad Aviation and Aeronautics (AAA) Company was resolved after the company paid Rs 4.68 crore tax to Mehsana municipality against the due amount of Rs 7.68 crore after an exemption of Rs 2.99 crore due to Mukhya Mantri Vera Valtar Protsahak scheme.

AAA company provides pilot training at the Mehsana aerodrome. The payment of a tax of Rs 7.68 crore was pending in the span of the last 15 years as per the survey of 2008. Mehsana municipality had given notices many times to the company. Mehsana municipality had also sealed the company’s property including 4 planes. The cheques had returned after the company paid the tax through 7 cheques of Rs 30 lakh each.

The company took benefit of CM Tax Refund Incentive Scheme and got an exemption of Rs 2.99 crore and gave tax of Rs 4.68 crore by demand draft.

Mehsana municipality had sealed the properties of the company including four aircraft, one bus, a hangar, and an office building on 28th November 2018. Mehsana municipality had approached the court after the 7 cheques of the company bounced. The court had ordered one-year punishment to the responsible person from the company and to pay the cheque amount. AAA had challenged the court’s order in the high court. DeshGujarat
