AMC brings new policy to control stray cattle menace
April 13, 2023
Amdavad: A new cattle nuisance control policy 2023 has been tabled before the standing committee of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) for approval that allows auctioning of unclaimed milch cows.
The new policy, when approved, will allow the civic body not only to auction the unclaimed cows but also to gift the unclaimed oxen to needy farmers. The policy also makes cattle owners liable to pay compensation for injury or death resulting from road accidents involving their stray cattle.
The new CNCD policy mandates that cattle owners have their own land to keep their cattle; otherwise, their animals will be impounded. The policy also requires cattle owners to pay a license fee of Rs 2,000 and a permit fee of Rs 500 per animal, renewable every three years. Additionally, an RFID tag for each animal is mandatory under the new policy. DeshGujarat
