Gujarat likely to get 2 lakh fresh Covid-19 vaccine doses
April 13, 2023
Gandhinagar: With the recent surge in Covid cases, the state is likely to receive about 2 lakh vaccine doses. However, the timeline for the same has not been finalized yet.
With the report of COVID-19 vaccination centres having low stock, Dr. Nayan Jani, the state’s immunization officer, said that after achieving 100% coverage of two doses, the number of people taking the precautionary booster dose decreased, even though the vaccination was free. Therefore, the state health department stopped sending fresh vaccine requests to prevent stock wastage.
However, with the increase in Covid cases and some central-level meetings, the state will be provided with new batches of vaccines, stated a senior health department official. DeshGujarat
