Challengers Trophy between Gujarat and Tamil Nadu on April 22-23

Gandhinagar: Saurashtra-Tamil Sangamam, an event organised by the Government of India, to highlight the historical relationship between Gujarat and Tamil Nadu and establish a synergy between the two states on the mantra of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, will be held from 17th to 30th April, 2023 in Gujarat. More than 5000 people will visit Gujarat as a part of this event.

The Government of Gujarat, under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, is giving its final touches to ensure a successful and grand celebration of the program. Under this, ‘Challengers Trophy’ will be organised between players of Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, wherein players from both the states will compete in 5 different sports.

The competitions will be organised on 22nd and 23rd April, 2023 at Bhavnagar Sports Complex. Senior players of Gujarat and Tamil Nadu will participate in Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball and Swimming. Winners will be awarded medals and certificates. The winning team will be awarded a trophy. There will be men’s singles, women’s singles and mixed doubles events in table tennis and tennis. Swimming Freestyle 100m and 200m, Backstroke 100m-200m, Breaststroke 100m-200m, Butterfly 100m-200m, Freestyle Relay 4*50m and 4*100m, Medley Relay 4*50m, Mixed Freestyle relay 4*50m and mixed medley relay 4*50 mini event will be organised. A total of 38 events have been organized in men’s and women’s categories in these five sports. A total of 216 players including 108 players from Gujarat and 108 players from Tamil Nadu will participate in this competition. DeshGujarat
