Savarkundla: Village talati of Bhammar gram panchayat Sarfaraz Abdul Dal has been booked for Rs. 38.58 lakh theft in government grant in the last three years. A complaint against Sarfaraz has been filed by Savarkundla irrigation department assistant engineer Manish Hadiya. Sarfaraz is also in-charge of Vanot and Chikhli villages at talati. He is accused of stealing 15th finance commission grant money received by three-gram panchayats in the last three years. According to the complaint, from 11 September 2020 to 21 March 2023, the accused talati received Rs. 15.03 lakh grant money from Bhammar gram panchayat, Rs. 10 lakh from Vanot gram panchayat and Rs. 12.75 lakh from Chikhli gram panchayat.
