Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has skipped the Gujarat Day functions in Jamnagar due to the poor health condition of his only son Anuj Patel. The State level functions to mark the Statehood day of Gujarat are taking place this year in Jamnagar. The functions are now taking place in the presence of Governor Acharya Devvrat.
Anuj Patel suffered a brain stroke on Sunday. He was taken to the private-run KD hospital on Sarkhej – Gandhinagar highway in Ahmedabad at 2.45 pm for emergency treatment.
The doctors performed surgery on Anuj Patel which reportedly went on for two hours. According to Parth Desai, the Chief Operating Officer of KD Hospital, Anuj Patel’s health condition was stable and he was under the supervision of expert doctors.
It is learnt that Mumbai-based Hinduja Hospital’s senior neuro surgeon Dr. BK Mishra has been called for treatment of Anuj. Anuj suffered a brain stroke at his residence in Ahmedabad in the presence of his father Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel yesterday after Bhupendrabhai attended a function to mark the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat in the Shilaj area of Ahmedabad and returned to his private residence which is located in the same area.
