Ahmedabad: Dr. Nirja Gupta has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Gujarat University. Dr. Gupta was earlier the Vice Chancellor of the University of Bauddh-Indic Studies in Sanchi in Madhya Pradesh. Dr. Gupta will replace Himanshu Professor, Dr. Himanshu Pandya whose extended term has ended.  Dr. Gupta had been previously the Principal of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan’s College of Arts and Commerce in Ahmedabad. She had been Advisor, to international universities and programs at Gujarat University. She is M.Phil and Ph.D., in English language and literature from Meerut University. Her term shall be for three years or till she is 65. She will become the first woman Vice Chancellor of Gujarat University.  DeshGujarat
