P&G India to set up ₹2000 cr manufacturing unit at Sanand in Gujarat

Sanand: Procter & Gamble (P&G) India has announced an investment of Rs 2,000 crore in Sanand, Gujarat, to establish a new manufacturing facility for personal healthcare products. This brings the multinational company’s total investment in India to over Rs 10,000 crore in the past decade.

According to a company statement, the new facility in Sanand will cover an area of 50,000 square meters and focus primarily on the production of healthcare products, specifically digestives, from P&G’s global portfolio.

The statement also mentioned that the facility is expected to become operational in the coming years and will serve as an export hub for P&G globally, allowing the company to cater to consumers worldwide. Additionally, the establishment of this plant is anticipated to create numerous direct and indirect job opportunities, providing a significant boost to the local economy, as stated by the company.

As per the company statement, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, conveyed his congratulations to P&G India for the recently commissioned project, terming it a milestone in their progress within the state and the country. He acknowledged that the manufacturing site would serve as an export hub, bringing forth various opportunities for the local community.

LV Vaidyanathan, CEO of P&G India, expressed the company’s commitment to supporting India’s growth and described the new facility in Gujarat as a demonstration of the country’s vast growth potential.
