Vadodara: Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) sent closure notices to 6 industrial units in Nandesari GIDC and ordered MGVCL to cut their electricity connections for allegedly polluting the water of Mini River.
MGVCL cut the electricity connections of Jaitik International, Link Pharma chem, Megha Dychem, Shakti Ammonia, Panoli intermediate unit 3, and unit 1 to 8. GPCB sent a closure notice to them last week for a breach of environmental norms. The managers of the company had asked MGVCL for a duration of 48 hours prior to cutting the connections.
The company’s managers allegedly released polluted waters in public in the Mini and Mahisagar rivers. GPCB, after learning about it, conducted a scientific analysis of the samples of the polluted water. GPCB sent closure notices to them for breach of the GPCB norms.
Nandesari Industries Association’s Chairman Babubhai Patel made an announcement that rewards will be given for passing information on any pollution-making activity by any unit from Nandesari GIDC such as the practices of discharging chemical mixed water in the river, stormwater channels, or reverse boring.
