Car hits wall and overturns in Maninagar; Drunk & drive suspected

Ahmedabad: Three days after the horrific car accident near ISKCON Bridge that claimed 9 lives, another accident occurred in Maninagar on Sunday night. This time, the people responsible for the accident were allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Their car suddenly rammed into a wall and overturned.
According to the information received from the police, a driver who was allegedly drinking and driving caused the accident near Jawahar Chowk in Maninagar at around half an hour past midnight. However, it is not known who was driving the car. The car had overturned after colliding with the wall. So far, no injuries or fatalities have been reported, but bloodstains were found inside the car. Some people were sitting on the railing at the time of the accident and managed to escape to safety upon seeing the car approaching from a distance. Upon receiving information about the accident, the Maninagar police promptly reached the spot and took further action.
Police Inspector Undkat of Maninagar Police Station, when asked about the incident, stated that the people involved in the accident were allegedly intoxicated, and beer bottles were found in their car. A case has been registered at the police station. The individuals involved in the accident were residents of Isanpur and were on their way from Kankaria. The process of taking action against them has been initiated as serious details have emerged in this matter. It has been reported that there were three people in the car at the time of the accident.
