PM Narendrabhai Modi to open a library with latest facilities in Rajkot

Rajkot: Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi is going to dedicate various development works during his visit to Rajkot on July 27. Among the works to be dedicated is a library which has been set up in the city’s ward number 6 at a cost of Rs. 8.39 crore.
This library has over 33,000 books, a toys library for children, and also digital content facility.
A three-story library is set up by the Rajkot Municipal Corporation near Govind Baug in a 1596 square meter area. Apart from 33,000 books, it has online e-books and e-journals. It has Students’ Study Corner for the students who need space to prepare for UPSC/GPSC and other competitive exams.
The library shall have 200 magazines and 20 newspapers available for readers. It will have wifi, internet surfing, and photocopy service also.
Board games, learning games, wooden games, puzzles, battery-operated toys – a total of 19000 such items are also available here for children. The library also has a mini theater where children’s film shows, documentary shows, workshops, book talks, quiz competitions, seminars, poetry reading sessions, etc will be held.
The library will remain open from Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 7.30 pm and on Sundays from 8 am to 2 pm. DeshGujarat
