PM Narendra Modi to launch development projects worth Rs. 2033 Crore tomorrow at Rajkot

Rajkot: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating various projects worth Rs 2033 crore tomorrow, July 27th, in Rajkot of Saurashtra. These various development projects include Rajkot International Airport built in Hirasar, Packages 8 and 9 of Link-3 of the SAUNI Yojana, and Saurashtra’s first multilevel overbridge in Rajkot.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will land at Rajkot International Airport in the afternoon. Here he will inaugurate the Rajkot International Airport, built at a cost of Rs 1405 crore, from the terminal building. The Prime Minister will also inspect the operations of the airport, including the runway and terminal. Later, he will address a public meeting at the Racecourse Ground and launch multiple development programmes from there.
From the Racecourse Ground, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch two packages, i.e., packages 8 and 9, of Link 3 of the Souni Yojana, completed at a cost of Rs 394 crore. Saurashtra’s first multilevel flyover bridge built at the KKV Chowk will be e-launched with remote control. The flyover is built at a cost of Rs 129.53 crore.
Apart from this, a water pipeline of 1219mm diameter from Nyari Dam to Raidhar Filter Plant, costing Rs. 41.71 crore, and a water treatment plant at a cost of Rs. 29.73 crore in Ward 1 at Raidhar will be dedicated. Additionally, he will remotely inaugurate the 15 MLD-capacity sewage treatment plant in Ward-18 at Kotharia and the library constructed at a cost of Rs. 8.39 crore near Govind Bagh in Ward-6.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the public on this occasion. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will also address the public. The Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Dr. VK Singh, will also be present.
Navsari MP Sri CR Patil, Industries Minister Balwantsinh Rajput, Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Bhanubhan Babria, Agriculture Minister Raghavjibhai Patel, Water Supply Minister Kunwarjibhai Bavaliya, Minister of State for Forest Environment Mukeshbhai Patel, and Minister of State for Cooperation Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma will be specially present. While Rajkot Mayor Dr. Pradeepbhai Dove, Zilla Panchayat President Bhupatbhai Bodar, MPs Sarva Rameshbhai Dhaduk, Mohanbhai Kundaria, and Rambhai Mokaria, MLAs Sarvashree Udaybhai Kanagad, Ms. Dr. Darshitabhen Shah, Rameshbhai Tilala, Mrs. Gitaba Jadeja, Jayeshbhai Raddia, Mahendrabhai Padalia, Jitubhai Somani, Durhabjibhai Detharia, Shamjibhai Chauhan, etc. will also be present.
An overview of the development projects to be launched by the Prime Minister:
Rajkot International Airport
~ Rajkot International Airport has been constructed at a cost of Rs 1405 crore in Hirasar village, near National Highway No. 27, about 30 km from Rajkot.
~ On October 7, 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the International Greenfield Airport at Hirasar village near Chotila.
~ Rajkot International Airport is included in the PM Gatishakti project.
~ The entire airport complex is spread over 2534 acres. This airport has a 3040-metre-long and 45-metre-wide runway. A total parking capacity of 14 aircraft.
~ A passenger terminal is built at the airport on 23 thousand square metres.
Sauni Yojana Link-3 Packages 8 and 9 completed at a cost of Rs. 393.67 crore
~ With the inauguration of these two packages, irrigation facilities will be intensified on more than 52,300 acres in Saurashtra.
~ In addition, more than 98 thousand people in 95 villages in Rajkot district will get the benefit of drinking water.
~ The work of Package 8 of ‘Sauni’ Yojana Link-3 has been completed at a cost of Rs 264.96 crore.
~ An area of 42,380 acres will get the direct benefit of irrigation through Package 8. With this, around 10,568 farmers will be able to get water for irrigation. The facilities for drinking and irrigation water for more than 75 thousand people in 57 villages will also be increased.
~ The work of Package 9 of ‘Sauni’ Yojana Link-3 was completed at a cost of Rs. 128.71 crore.
~ With the implementation of this package 9, more than 23 thousand people in 38 villages will benefit, and the land will become greener by getting irrigation facilities on 10,018 acres of land.
Various development works of the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (Five works: Rs. 234.08 crore)
(1) KKV Chowk Multilevel Fly Overbridge: Rs. 129.53 Crore
~ Saurashtra’s first multilevel flyover bridge is built over Hayat Bridge at KKV Chowk on Kalavad Road in Rajkot city .
~ Construction cost of this 1.15 km-long bridge is Rs 129.53 crore
~ This bridge will solve the problem of Kalavad road traffic.
(2) A pipeline of diameter 1219 MM for conveying raw water from Nyari-1 Dam to the newly constructed filter plant at Raidhar, at a cost of Rs. 41.71 crore.
~ Water can be carried from Nyari-1 Dam to Raiadhar through this 11 km-long pipeline.
~ Under this project, water will be supplied to the areas of Ward Nos. 1, 8, 9, 10, and 13 of Rajkot Metropolitan Municipality. Approximately 2,40,000 people will be supplied with water through this pipeline.
(3). Construction of a water treatment plant at Raidhar for Rs. 29.73 crores in Ward No. 1 of the West Zone of Rajkot, under Amrit-1 Yojana
~ This plant has a treatment capacity of 50 million litres per day. Elevated storage capacity of three lakh litres.
~ Under this project, water will be supplied to the areas of Ward Nos. 1, 8, 9, 10, and 13 of Rajkot Metropolitan Municipality. Approximately 2,40,000 people will be supplied with water through the pipeline.
(4) Under the Amrit-1 scheme, a 15 MLD-capacity sewage treatment plant is constructed at a cost of Rs. 24.72 crores in Kotharia, ward number 18 of Rajkot.
~ This plant will solve the problems related to drainage for approximately two lakh residents of the Kotharia and Vavadi areas of Ward Nos. 18 and 12.
(5) Construction of a library near Govind Bagh in Ward No. 6 at a cost of Rs. 8.39 crore
~ Construction of three floors of library in addition to the ground floor in a large area of 1596 sq. m.
~ 33 thousand books of different subjects in different languages, about 200 magazines, and about 20 current papers can be read in this library. It also has a toy library, digital content, and a minitheater for cultural activities.
