Gujarat has 1,58,928 mobile towers, out of which 19,856 towers are 5G

New Delhi: The state of Gujarat has a total of 19,856 mobile towers where 5G services have been started by various private companies. The state also has a total of 1,58,928 Base Transceiver Stations (BTSs) of 4 different companies. This information was given by the Minister of State for Communications, Devusinh Chauhan, in response to a question from a Lok Sabha member during the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Gujarat Circle has been allotted 533 numbers of new sites to be installed in tribal, remote & rural areas and 17 numbers to be upgraded to 4G, under the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) 4G Saturation project of the Government of India. As per the directive of the Government under the ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ mission, BSNL has issued a Purchase order for 100 thousand 4G sites on a PAN India basis including Gujarat. DeshGujarat
