Gujarat govt suspends Anand district collector DS Gadhvi

Anand: The district collector of Anand in Central Gujarat is suspended with immediate effect by the State government. The charge of the post has been assigned to the District Development Officer (DDO) of the same district Milind Bapna as an additional charge. He has been suspended due to serious charges of misconduct and moral turpitude under All India Service (Discipline & Appeal), Rules, 1969. A video clipping that is being probed by a high-level committee is believed responsible for this unprecedented action taken by the State government. Gadhvi is the year 2008 Gujarat SCS IAS officer.
An order has been issued from the Chief Minister level to form a committee under the chairmanship of an officer of the rank of Additional Chief Secretary and conduct an investigation into the video clip and related matter. For this, an inquiry committee has been formed after receiving an order from the Chief Minister level. The committee includes all women officers, including Additional Chief Secretary Sunaina Tomar, Principal Secretary Mamata Verma, Rural Development Commissioner Manisha Chandra, Joint Secretary Bhakti Shamal, and Deviben Pandya.
