BMW biker dies of overspeeding linked accident in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: In another fatality resulting from overspeeding, 21-year-old Sahil Ajmeri died after sustaining critical injuries in a bike accident near Ellisbridge.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Thursday when Sahil, a resident of Toksha ni pol in Raikhad, was passing near Ellisbridge. He abruptly applied the brakes on his bike to take a turn onto Kavi Nanalal Bridge near Ellisbridge while travelling at high speed. This led to a collision with the bridge wall. The injuries sustained in the accident led to the death of Sahil.

Sahil’s sibling lodged a First Information Report (FIR) with the M traffic police station on Friday, asserting that an unidentified vehicle collided with the victim and describing it as a hit-and-run incident.

Inspector Hansa Katariya elaborated, “Initially, a complaint was filed against an unidentified car driver; however, as our investigation progressed, we obtained footage from the MJ Library BRTS bus stand revealing that Sahil Ajmeri lost control while applying brakes, resulting in his collision with the bridge wall.” The impact inflicted severe head and facial injuries on Sahil. He was transported to Asarwa Civil Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during medical treatment. Sahil was employed at a Mercedes showroom near Parimal Garden.”
