Passport office workers stay away from work in Ahmedabad; document verification for hundreds delays
August 19, 2023
Ahmedabad: A video is circulating on social media, showcasing the passport office in the Mithakhali area of city. The video depicts a large number of people gathered at the passport office.
Individuals visiting the office for passport-related matters allege that the workers of the C and B wings of the passport office have gone on strike due to certain demands. As a result, the verification of documents related to work in the B wing is not being conducted, causing inconvenience for those who are there for important work.
The delayed operations led to a commotion at the passport office, which was eventually resolved with the intervention of the police.
An individual shared their experience, stating, “Upon reaching the passport office, we were directed to the B wing to complete our work. We waited there for about an hour and a half. Later, we were informed that the officers of that wing were not available today. We were asked to wait for a while in case the workers decide to resume work. Around 500 to 700 people are waiting for their passport appointments.” DeshGujarat
