Bayad: Independently elected Bayad MLA Dhavalsinh Zala has rejoined ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) formally in a function today in presence of Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil. A function was held by BJP Arvalli district for inauguration of Modasa – Dhansura and Malpur taluka BJP office.

Patil on this occasion in his speech asked Dhavalsinh to get himself glued to the BJP now as he had been Congress MLA, BJP MLA and independent MLA in the past. Dhavalsinh, an aide of present BJP MLA Alpesh Thakor, first contested the assembly election as Congress candidate and he won it. Then he resigned and joined BJP but lost the by-election by a margin of less than 1000 votes. He was denied ticket by BJP last year in regular elections of the State assembly. He then contested as an independent candidate and won. Later he was regularly seen in BJP events and apparently rejoined the party.

It’s worth noting that when Dhavalsinh and few other BJP leaders rebelled last year and filed nominations against BJP candidates, CR Patil had announced that no rebel would be inducted back to the party ever. However Dhavalsinh and other successful/unsuccessful rebels are inducted back to party.

As Dhavalsinh had contested last election against BJP’s official candidate, CR Patil today in his speech reminded him that some BJP workers were upset with him and he should apologize to them. DeshGujarat
