Anand: A senior editor of Central Gujarat based daily, Jashvant Raval has in his Facebook post (in Gujarati) has opined regarding Salangpur Hanuman distortion controversy that such a disaster occurred to Vadtal branch of Swaminarayan sect due to which reasons.

Why did such a disaster occur? Reconciliation was done but the sect lost a lot. Why?

—Sarvopari (paramount) word itself is the opposite of eternal essence of Sanatan.
(the word was used by one of Swaminarayan saint for their sect in one of speeches that has gone viral)

— There are only two books authored or authenticated by Sahajananda Swami, ‘Vachnamrit’ and ‘Shikshapatri’. The sect started abandoning dependence on these two and went moving ahead with Leela and charitra texts.

— The ignorant and illiterate orators of the sect started telling all sorts of entertaining and inferior level stories. (Orators meaning Saints of the sect who address the followers and often portions of their speeches go viral for derogatory remarks regarding Hindu Gods, Goddesses)

— The sect is in the Vaishnava tradition and the Shastra Siddhanta is ‘Vishishth advaita’ – this was completely forgotten.

— Sahajananda Swami had placed idols of Lord Narayana in all Shikharbandh temples.
(there are six prasadi mandirs that Sahajanand Swami himself built)

— The name of the sect was given as Swaminarayan by Sahajanand Swami and by this it was clearly pointed out that Bhagwan Narayana is this sect’s Swami (chief deity to be worshiped, supreme). Forgetting all this, Sahajanand Swami was made Swaminarayan and he was made as supreme(God).

—To achieve this, the other Gods were given the status of dasa.

— Swami Narayan Sampradaya, especially Vadtal and Kalupur Gadi (North and South Gadi) should come forward. Salangpur should hear this occasion as a wake-up call for reform and not in any other way.

No one is supreme than Sanatana. Even the strongest decays eventually when left alone.
