Sanand to get five-star hotel; first GIDC to have such a hotel

Sanand: The Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) is going to establish a five-star hotel within the Sanand industrial estate. The corporation has allocated a portion of land for this purpose and is inviting bids from interested parties.

GIDC intends to capitalize on the substantial investments that the Sanand estate has witnessed over the past decade. Given the growing interest from numerous corporations in setting up manufacturing plants in this region, GIDC aims to develop modern infrastructure and amenities to cater to the needs of visiting corporate executives.

Dhaval Vasava, the General Manager (Pre-Allotment) at GIDC, explained, “Sanand GIDC has witnessed the influx of major multinational companies, and their foreign executives frequently visit Sanand. We believe that a five-star hotel within the estate will offer them convenient accommodations. We are committed to developing comprehensive social infrastructure within the Sanand GIDC estate and have initiated the process of auctioning a plot of approximately 20,000 square meters for the hotel.”

The Sanand industrial estate gained international recognition with the establishment of Tata Motors’ Nano plant and currently houses approximately 450 manufacturing units, including those of 36 multinational corporations such as Nestle, Coca Cola, Colgate, Nivea, P&G, and Maxxis Rubber. Even Micron, a prominent US semiconductor company, has chosen the Sanand as the location for its facility.

Ajit Shah, President of the Sanand Industries Association (SIA), highlighted, “Gujarat boasts over 200 GIDC estates, but Sanand is poised to become the first estate to host a five-star hotel.”
