Cleanup begins in Chandod as Narmada water recedes after 4 days
September 19, 2023
Dabhoi : The authorities have launched a cleanup operation as the water from the Narmada River has receded in the Chandod village here located at the convergence of the Narmada.
The shops in the local market were opened today after 4 days with the initiation of the cleaning operation, as the Narmada water at Malharrao Ghat in Chandod has subsided. Out of the 108 steps at the ghat, around 40 steps are now out of the water. Authorities distributed food packets to those in need, and the process of cleaning the mud and garbage that washed ashore during the Narmada flood in the last three days has begun. Authorities are using a JCB machine to remove heavy, wet garbage and mud as day-to-day activities return to normalcy. DeshGujarat
