Jamnagar may get Vande Bharat Express train; PM Modi likely to flag it off on Sept 24

Ahmedabad: The state of Gujarat is likely to get its third Vande Bharat Express train, which will run between Ahmedabad and Jamnagar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to virtually inaugurate nine Vande Bharat trains, including the one between Jamnagar and Ahmedabad, on September 24.

According to sources in the Railway Ministry, these nine Vande Bharat trains include the new saffron-coloured Vande Bharat train. There is a possibility that the country’s first saffron-coloured Vande Bharat train with this a new livery will run between Kasaragod and Trivandrum. The remaining eight Vande Bharat trains will retain the traditional blue color.

The trains likely to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister this coming Sunday, September 24, will operate on various routes, including Jaipur to Udaipur, Patna to Howrah, Ranchi to Howrah, Hyderabad to Chennai, Chennai to Tirunelveli, Indore to Jaipur, Puri to Rourkela, Jaipur to Chandigarh, and Jamnagar to Ahmedabad.

For the inaugural run, the Jamnagar to Ahmedabad Vande Bharat train will depart from Jamnagar on September 24th at 12:30 pm, making scheduled stops at Rajkot, Wankaner, Surendranagar, Viramgam, and Sabarmati.

Subsequently, during its regular service, the train will depart from Jamnagar for Ahmedabad at 5:30 am every morning. MP Poonam Madam who had previously advocated for the Vande Bharat Train has expressed her gratitude to the Prime Minister following the Central Government’s decision.

It is expected that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will be present in either Rajasthan or Odisha during the inauguration. Currently, there are 25 Vande Bharat Express trains operating between different cities across the country.
