September 22, 2023
Gandhinagar: The feasibility study for the Kalpasar Project has not yet been finalized, stated the Gujarat government during the recently concluded Monsoon session of the Gujarat Assembly. Despite the project being announced over three decades ago, the state government remains uncertain about its feasibility.
Inquiries raised by Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) during the session sought information regarding the project’s current status, the progress of the feasibility studies, and the initiation of land acquisition for the project. In response, the state government confirmed that as of March 31, 2023, no land has been acquired for the project, and the feasibility report is still in progress.
As for the formation of the Kalpasar Area Development Authority and the receipt of approvals from the Union government, the government clarified that neither the state nor the central government has granted approval for its establishment. DeshGujarat
