PM to launch Rs. 4500 crore school excellence projects at Bodeli in Gujarat

Chhota Udepur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit his home state of Gujarat on September 26-27 during which he is likely to inaugurate projects worth Rs 4,500 crore in the education sector and address a public gathering in tribal town of Bodeli.

Giving the details about the event, Vinod Rao, Secretary of Primary and Secondary Education, explained that during this visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate or lay the foundation for projects valued at Rs 4,500 crore in Bodeli. These projects encompass the construction of new classrooms, smart classrooms, and computer labs across the state. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will launch several new education-related schemes in Gujarat, including Swami Vivekananda Gyan Shakti Residential Schools, Raksha Shakti Schools, Mukhya Mantri Gyan Setu Merit Scholarship, and Mukhya Mantri Gyan Sadhna Merit Scholarship.

The Mission Schools of Excellence project is set to allocate Rs 10,000 crore over the next five years to cover all 35,133 government and 5,847 grant-in-aid schools. This funding will be utilized to build 50,000 new classrooms, establish 1.5 lakh smart classrooms, create 20,000 new computer labs, and set up 5,000 tinkering labs in over 41,000 government and grant-in-aid schools throughout the state, with the project expected to directly benefit nearly one crore students in the next five years.
