West Bengal man held for practising as doctor for 18 years in Vadodara village

Vadodara: The city police arrested Aseemkumar Sankhari, a resident of Raipur village in Vadodara, on Monday. After his arrest, it was learnt that Sankhari, who had been practicing medicine and prescribing medications to patients in the region for the past 18 years, does not possess any medical degree.
Acting on the information they had gathered, the police detained Sankhari who originally hail from West Bengal. According to law enforcement, he lacked the necessary professional qualifications in medicine but had established his own clinic, where he practiced as a doctor. It is also alleged that accused is only read till class XII.
Furthermore, the police and health authorities confiscated medications from his clinic, along with the money he had collected as fees from patients. Meanwhile, district health officials have decided to verify the medical credentials of individuals suspected of operating fraudulent clinics. DeshGujarat
