Parking details for World Cup matches at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The ICC Cricket World Cup is scheduled to commence on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, which is the world’s largest stadium. A total of five matches, including the India-Pakistan clash, being held here, are expected to attract a large number of spectators who will make their way to the matches using various modes of transportation, including the Metro and BRTS.
If you are planning to attend the matches in your own vehicle, we bring you details about where to park your vehicle and how to reach the designated parking areas.
In a country where cricket is revered as a religion, every seat in the stadium is expected to be filled during the matches. Public transportation is likely to be fully occupied on match days, and a significant number of spectators will arrive in their private vehicles. Therefore, preparations have been made to ensure that these spectators do not encounter any inconveniences.
A private agency has leased a total of 15 parking plots in the vicinity of the Motera cricket stadium to accommodate vehicles. These parking arrangements are available within a range of half a kilometer to two and a half kilometers from the cricket stadium. Separate parking plots have been designated for two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Four parking plots have been allocated from Motera Janpath T to Visat Circle, while an additional four plots are designated from ONGC Circle to Khodiyar T. The nearest parking options to the stadium include Sangath IPL ground and the Bharwad plot near gate no-1, located in front of the stadium.
Individuals are required to pay parking fees, with a charge of Rs 100 for a two-wheeler and Rs 250 for a four-wheeler. Online parking bookings can be made through the ‘Show My Parking’ application. Among the 15 parking plots managed by the private agency, three plots are allocated for two-wheelers, one plot is designated for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers, and 11 plots are reserved for four-wheelers. These 15 parking lots can accommodate a total of 15,000 two-wheelers and 7,250 four-wheelers.

It is noteworthy that the authorities will levy heavy fines on people not following the parking rules. Moreover, for those who do not want to go through the hassle of parking, they can use public transport. For the convenience of the match audience, AMTS and BRTS have announced extra buses on match day, and the Ahmedabad Metro will also operate for additional hours, keeping in mind the timing of the match.
