Surat gets 121st bridge; Patil says city has highest number of bridges across India

Surat: The city of Surat which is also popularly known as the bridge city of Gujarat due to high number of bridges in the city, got its 121st bridge today. A new bridge constructed on Kharvarnagar junction to Parvat Patiya BRTS route over Bhathena junction was inaugurated by Navsari Lok Sabha member CR Patil who is also president of Gujarat unit of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP). Over a million people will benefit regularly from this bridge.

Patil said, the city of Surat is number one when it comes to the number of bridges in entire India. A 560 mete bridge is constructed at a cost of Rs. 37 crore. It gives direct connectivity from textile market to highway. Patil said this bridge will ease the issue of traffic. Patil congratulated the office bearers of Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) for construction of this bridge. DeshGujarat
