Ahmedabad: A security manager at SVPI airport here reportedly faced verbal abuse and threats from taxi drivers after requesting one of them not to use the arrival lane designated for passengers.
Security manager Kamlesh Patil, a 43-year-old resident of Chandkheda, filed a complaint with the airport police earlier this week. As per the complaint, on November 17, around 8:30 p.m., while on supervisory duty at Domestic Terminal-1, Patil observed a taxi parked in Arrival Lane 11. Upon instructing the driver, Mayuddin Pathan, to relocate, Patil was met with verbal abuse and shouting. Pathan’s brother Raja, along with individuals named Muju and Vinod Jain, the leaders of Taxi Group-B, joined in the altercation.
Sensing trouble, Patil left the security area, but the four individuals pursued him, subjecting another security personnel, Amin Pariya, to abuse. Patil filed a complaint on Monday, citing charges of verbal abuse, criminal intimidation, and abettor present when the offence was committed. DeshGujarat
