GSRTC bus runs out of FASTag balance: Passengers stranded for 45 minutes
December 04, 2023
Bhavnagar: More than 60 passengers faced inconvenience when the morning bus departing from Modasa Depot to Bhavnagar ran out of FASTag balance, causing a half-hour delay at the Bhadbhid Toll Plaza on Sunday.
The bus, scheduled to depart from Modasa at 7:30 in the morning, left the depot one hour behind schedule on Sunday. Upon reaching the Bhadbhid toll plaza, it encountered a FASTag balance exhaustion issue. As a result, the bus came to a standstill for half an hour at the plaza. Later, when the passengers became upset, the driver paid the toll in cash, and the bus resumed its journey to Bhavnagar.
This delay affected passengers traveling from Bhavnagar to Alang, Talaja, Mahuwa, as the bus servicing that route from Bhavnagar had already departed.
Depot manager Harshad Patel explained that due to a fault in the Modasa-Bhavnagar permanent ST route bus, the Undwa Rajkot route bus was assigned for the Modasa to Bhavnagar journey. He also mentioned that the driver and conductor were contacted and instructed to ensure FASTag payments in the future. DeshGujarat
