Coca-Cola to invest Rs 3,000 Crore in Sanand

Sanand: The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC), a leading American multinational beverage manufacturer, is set to invest Rs 3,000 crore in establishing a beverage base and concentrates plant in Sanand.

The state government has confirmed the allocation of a 1.6 lakh square metre plot (SM-52) in Sanand Industrial Estate-II for the plant.

The company operates two plants in Gujarat through Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd., the bottling partner of the company. Out of these two, one facility is in Goblej, located in the Kheda district, and the other is in Sanand, adjacent to which the new plant will come up.

Senior officials in the state administration revealed that Coca-Cola has previously made significant investments in Gujarat through its bottling partners. The government has expedited the approval process and has already allocated land for the new plant.

Government sources indicated that the new plant will be fully automated, incorporating robotic technology, the Internet of Things (IoT), and machine-learning-enabled devices for real-time monitoring and control of manufacturing processes. The facility will also feature automated storage and retrieval systems. During the construction phase, approximately 1,000 skilled and unskilled workers will be employed by the company.

Once operational, the plant is expected to have a workforce of around 400 employees in operational and engineering roles, with a focus on gender diversity. DeshGujarat
