Ahmedabad: A tragic incident unfolded in the Vasna area of the city early this morning, leaving a couple severely injured as a sweeper machine ran over the footpath near G B Shah Arts & Commerce College. Unfortunately, the woman lost her life in the incident, and her injured husband has been transferred to the hospital for medical attention.

According to information from police, the woman was engaged in making chapatis on the footpath when an AMC sweeper machine tragically ran her over, leading to her immediate demise. The husband, sustaining serious injuries, was quickly transported to the hospital. This incident echoes a recent unfortunate occurrence where an innocent life was lost due to an AMC sweeper machine.

Following the accident, the driver of the sweeper machine attempted to flee the scene, but alert bystanders chased him down. The gathering crowd expressed their sorrow over the loss of an innocent life. The police has initiated investigation in response to the incident, detaining the driver of the sweeper machine. The body of the deceased woman has been transferred to the hospital for post-mortem examination.
